Loving Kindness
Mantra
The original "I Hope U Know How Loved U Are" t-shirt was designed by us as our uniforms on the Compassion Campaign trail.
We first proclaimed those eight words in June 2018, during an extremely turbulent time. The discriminatory court case Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission was decided on June 4th.
Beloved designer, Kate Spade completed suicide on June fifth, and world reknowned chef Anthony Bourdain on June 8th. And the two year anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub terror attack was June 12. Noah and I were feeling the weight of grief and unreleased pain with no space to put it.
We needed to remind ourselves and our community that, “I Hope U Know How Loved U Are.” So we put it on a flag made of baby blankets and paraded this message for three days at LA Pride.
From Los Angeles, CA to Newtown, CT to London, England, these shirts declare our personal message of Loving-Kindness that has radically transformed our lives and provided us with the gift of connection to people around the world, around the country, and in our own communities; this shirt has been a powerful tool of engagement, bringing us together with so many wonderful and unexpected individuals, simply by wearing it. We hope it can provide that same service for you and your community.
Our greatest wish is that this shirt connects you with others. Often, when suffering from any mental illness, we isolate ourselves. We feel a burden to others and disconnect from the world. On those days, in those times, we hope you walk into your closet and pull out this shirt. We hope you gift this shirt to a friend or stranger who you know could use this reminder in their darkness. Even when you’re feeling the most unworthy, when you are consumed by shame and doubt and fear, this message is for you. We hope you remember this everyday, and know we believe in you. No matter what, you are valid. You are worthy. I hope u know how loved u are. I hope u know how much we need u.
This shirt is not just a message;
It is an act of loving-kindness.
Each shirt you buy goes directly towards
funding our projects.
Every dollar you spend goes
back to the community.
This is our ONLY source of fundraising.
Your support keeps
