Our Mission

At Classroom of Compassion, we are dedicated to fostering communal healing in the aftermath of public mass gun violence. Our Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization empowers communities nationwide by creating public memorial spaces that honor the lives, stories, and impact of those affected.

Our commitment extends beyond physical memorials; through expressions of art, communal grieving, and the power of public spaces, we strive to provide solace and support for individuals navigating the complex emotions of loss. Our hope is that the legacy of each individual is cherished and remembered.

About Us

Classroom of Compassion is a nonprofit organization based in the heart of Los Angeles, dedicated to transforming the aftermath of public mass gun violence into a journey of healing, remembrance, and community support. Our team recognizes the profound impact these tragic events have on individuals, families, and communities as a whole.

Driven by a mission of compassion and solidarity, we travel across the country, standing alongside communities in their time of need. Our primary focus is to assist in the creation of public memorial spaces that serve as a tangible testament to the lives lost and the stories left behind. These spaces become sanctuaries for reflection, remembrance, and healing, offering a place for communities to gather and support one another.

In addition to establishing these meaningful memorials, we set up onsite arts workshops that invite the community to share their sentiments, offering a space for personal dedications that further amplify the voices of those affected by these tragedies.

Through the medium of art and the strength of public spaces, we endeavor to provide solace, comfort, and a sense of belonging to all those impacted by public mass gun violence. Classroom of Compassion is committed to fostering an environment of compassion, understanding, and unity as we work together to heal and honor the lives we have lost.
